A new video released by the Port of Los Angeles shows how the introduction of GE’s Port Optimizer program is revolutionizing the ports infrastructure.
The port is looking to use the program to enhance the performance and predictability of their supply chain.
Handling approximately 20% of all cargo to the US, amounting to 9.3 million TEU in 2017, the port has 200,000 annual customers using its services and moves an average of 35,000 containers per day out of the port via trucks.

The port’s Executive Director, Gene Seroka, features in the video saying: “This is one of the most complex port infrastructure projects in the world.”
The software, developed by General Electric Transportation, offers users tailored real-time information from a variety of sources – allowing for better planning and predictability across the entire supply chain.
Fresh off the success of the Port Optimizer implementation at the Port of Los Angeles, GE are bringing the software solution to the Port of Long Beach.
