TWO WORKERS FATALLY CRUSHED; TWO SERIOUSLY INJURED IN GRANITE HANDLING EXERCISE [MUMBAI, INDIA – 29 NOVEMBER 2018]

A report coming from India (see link below), confirms that two workers at a Mumbai area container freight station (CFS) were crushed to death and two were seriously injured last Thursday (29 November) during their handling of large containerized granite pieces to facilitate a port customs service examination.
From the tenor of the article, it appears that assigned workers at the APMT facility declined to handle the granite owing to its size/weight. Consequently, it is alleged that outside laborers were hired to conduct the work and were killed/injured during that process.
Four persons were arrested and charged with various negligence and endangerment statutes.
We understand that APMT operates two CFS facilities at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port complex.
