Last week the Hapag Lloyd vessel Detroit Express arrived in Montreal completely encased in ice. The temperature was minus 14 Celsius and with a -24 wind chill. The vessel arrived unlashed when it came alongside the dock. This is dangerous for seafarers, dangerous for the environment, rips off Canada’s dockers and robs the country of a tax base.
