Mega container ship troubled in Piraeus



Mega container ship THALASSA ELPIDA understood to collide with pier during berthing early in the morning May 1 in Piraeus Greece, information to be confirmed or corrected. Reportedly both the ship and the pier sustained damages, extent unknown. THALASSA ELPIDA is detained for survey. Container ship arrived from Zeebrugge. As of 1400 UTC, the ship was still berthed at Piraeus.
