Container ship hit pier at Reykjavik


Container ship NAJA ARCTICA severely damaged wharf at Reykjavik port, Iceland, on arrival in the morning May 26. The ship hit pier while berthing, rendering one of the berths unusable for at least a month, total damages cost estimated to be well above 100,000 USD. The ship left Reykjavik same day, bound for Greenland, so understood NAJA ARCTICA damages were minimal.
