In the photograph below, two workers are seen either climbing up or down bulkhead ladderways in likely connection with bulk cargo trimming duties.

They're "in the bight" created by a moving object (the clamshell bucket) and a fixed object (the afterend bulkhead). The only components missing in creating a tragedy, are another ship passing close by or perhaps an erratic movement of the cargo gear.

If it were me in the orange shirt (standing in observation at the port side coaming), I'd be cursing a blue streak.........
