Blueoceana Company has learned that a marine terminal worker operating a yard tractor at the SM Line terminal at Gwangyang port, South Korea, was killed when his yard tractor crashed into a stack of hatch covers situated in the back reach of one of the terminal’s dozen or so container gantry cranes.
Identified only as “Amo“, within the only news article immediately available (See link below), we understand that the accident that led to his death occurred at approximately 2:40 PM local time on 01 November (Friday).
That roughly translated media account provides little more in the way of causal information, but does make an indication that the accident is being investigated by local police.
