With great regret, we've been informed of yet another fatal accident occurring at a Spanish port.
Yesterday afternoon, we understand that a 60 year old longshore crane operator at Bilbao was killed when the crane he was operating collapsed.
From the sole available photograph, the crane appears to be shore-based, but we haven't a sense (as yet) as to what actually brought the crane down.
While the media notice linked-to below (in its original Spanish) says little more, we are continuing our research.

Ron Signorino Our apologies......! In researching this accident, it appears that the crane operator was not a longshore worker but rather was employed by a large shipyard/ship repair firm at Bilboa. We are, nonetheless, very regretful of his passing.
