Today in Bremerhaven ITF affiliated Verdi Dockers and ITF Inspectors standing in solidarity with seafarers right to safe work and the Montreal dockers reclaiming lashing campaign. The ITF is committed to the safety and security of seafarers. Last May the 31 year old Sri Lankan 2nd Officer fell off the Maersk Patras and was never found. The ITF Docker Section is grateful for the commitment of the Verdi Dockers. Also included pictures of the same ship arriving in Montreal in January fully iced, Maersk still sent its seafarers outside to drop the lashing while underway in the Saint Lawrence. This is cruel and we will not stand for it any longer. Thanks to the Dockers of Bremen for your solidarity.
