Officers were performing checks on vehicles around the Port of Felixstowe between 7am and 2pm last Tuesday to enforce legislation about carrying dangerous goods such as clinical waste.
Clinical waste has been deemed a threat across the world because it has the potential to be used by terrorist organisations to produce explosives.
32 vehicles were stopped during the operation with 19 carrying dangerous goods.
There were 13 offences detected by (CDG) offices and 43 detected by VOSA and HMRC which led to 24 prohibition notices being issued.
Offences including no MOT, driver’s hours offences and a tank containing corrosive material that was leaking, were also spotted.
