Celebration of 20 years AGV’s

This infographic show the development of AGVs throughout history. What will the future bring?

In 2013 the next step in unmanned transportation will become operational at Maasvlakte 2. Back in 1993 ECT’s Delta/Sealand Terminal in Rotterdam was the first completely automated container terminal in the world. Unmanned Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV’s) transport containers between ship and stack. In 2013 a next generation of AGV’s will become operational at Maasvlakte 2, Rotterdam’s new port area in the North Sea. New features enable to uncouple transport and storage for the first time and are 50% more efficient compared to the conventional model. Both RWG and APMT2 (operating at Maasvlakte 2) will work with battery-powered Lift AGV’s, resulting in zero CO2 emission and noise reduction.
