Maersk vessels operated from London

Maersk Line's new alliance with MSC and CMA CGM - the P3 Network - becomes effective from the 2nd quarter of 2014. CEO of CMA CGM, Rodolphe Saadé, told Lloyd's List that the new operations center for the 255 container ships, will be located in London.
Maersk Line will supply 42 percent of the capacity to the network, equivalent to 1.1 million TEU. Consequently, a fairly large part of the operational management in Maersk Line vessels will in the future happen from London.

What impact the relocation will have on Maersk Line's employees in Copenhagen and other cities, is not yet fully clear.

Realization of the plans to create the P3 Network requires regulatory approvals in the EU, U.S. and China - and it is far from certain that the competition authorities will turn on the green light.

Together, the three companies make out more than 37 percent of the world market. An EU rule of thumb is that no player should sit on more than 30 percent of the market.
