Feeders from Felixstowe, Rotterdam to Spain's north coast in October
STARTING mid-October, near-sea Hamburg-based Team Lines and OPDR will run a service between Felixstowe, Rotterdam and Bilbao, the hub on the
northern coast of Spain within easy reach of south western France.
"Both companies are specialists for the container traffic in and out of the Iberian Peninsula," said OPDR group CEO Till Ole Barrelet.Said Team Lines managing director Alexander Saverys: "Through this co-operation, we strengthen our position on the Iberian trades to northern Europe and add more transshipment possibilities for door-door Delphis Logistics cargo moving to and from the Baltic Sea."
The European feeder sector last week saw Denmark-based Unifeeder agree to buy Mediterranean specialist United Feeder Services to create what is claimed to be the largest pan-European feeder operator, reported Lloyd's List. Unifeeder and UFS will operate as separate organisations.
Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei (OPDR) and Feeder and Container Operator Team Lines are setting up a new domestic and feeder service between the ports of Bilbao, Felixstowe and Rotterdam.
