Peel Ports turn to Navis N4 for TOS upgrade

Liverpool2 will be one of eight terminals to boast N4 technology.
UK operator Peel Ports has announced that it will implement the latest Navis N4 terminal operation system (TOS) across eight terminal sites in the UK and Ireland.
In a statement, Peel Ports said that the N4 technology will be used to integrate all of its container terminals enabling it to “standardise operations and enhance customer service”.
Starting with Liverpool2, Peel Ports’ new £300 million in-river container facility, and the Royal Seaforth Container Terminal at the Port of Liverpool, the N4 technology will be rolled-out across all terminals over the next three to four years.
“We were ready as a group for this performance enhancing technology as we are committed to delivering a world-class customer service,” said David Huck, port director at Peel Ports
“We operate in an increasingly competitive market and understand that in order to continue growing our business, we need to continue to invest in our customers.”
“Full integration of the terminal operating technology is an essential part of this process.”
“Using N4 will have a genuinely transformative effect on customer experience and will undoubtedly deliver logistics solutions of real value.”
The N4 technology will replace the current SPARCS.37 and other in-house systems at each of the terminals. Dedicated internal and external teams will be put in place to manage the implementation process, ensuring continued positive customer experience during the changeover process.
Peel Ports handles 65 million tonnes of cargo and 26,000 vessel moves per year. In terms of container market the group currently handles 1.2 million TEU per annum and expects volumes to grow to 2.3 million TEU over the next five years.
