Evergreen becomes a slot partner on CSCL’s North Europe – Far East AEX1 service. Evergreen starts slotting on 18th May with the vessel XIN BEIJING and brands the service AEC1. The Taiwanese carrier already offers 3 North Europe – Far East services as operator (CEM, CES, NE7) and including the AEX1 service it is now a slot partner on another 5 services on this this corridor (FAL3, NE3, NE6, NE2, AEX1).
AEX1 deploys 10 vessels on a weekly frequency and a 70 day-rotation. It has an average weekly service capacity of 9,400 TEU and Yang Ming (AX1) and Hanjin (CUN) are already taking slots on the service. CSCL's North Europe Far East service AEX1 undergoes modifications:
CSCL becomes the sole operator of the North Europe – Far East AEX1 service after Zim stops its participation as an operator on the service. The last voyage for Zim will start at Qingdao on 18th April. As a result of this decision the Israeli carrier cannot offer a direct Far East – North Europe service at the moment.
The AEX1 service simultaneously undergoes modifications to its port rotation. Zeebrugge and Port Kelang (Eastbound) will be added whilst Antwerp, Ningbo (Eastbound), Shanghai (Eastbound) and Port Kelang (Westbound) will be withdrawn from the port rotation. The service deploys 10 vessels on a weekly frequency and a 70 day-rotation. It has an average service capacity of 9,000 TEU per week in May.
Hanjin will become a slot partner on the AEX1 at the end of April and will brand it CUN. The Korean carrier will engage its slot sharing agreement on the vessel XIN LOS ANGELES on 27th April from Qingdao. Yang Ming Marine is already taking slots on the service and brands it AX1. Currently Hanjin already participates on the North Europe – Far East services NE2, NE3, NE5, NE6, NE7 and NE8 as one of the CKHYE alliance members. Hanjin further takes slots on CSCL (AEX7) and UASC’s (AEC8) jointly operated North Europe – Far East Service which is branded CFN by Hanjin.
