Rolls Royce: The Future of Container Shipping?

Rolls Royce has released a new video which explains its futuristic and technological advanced ‘Ox Bridge’ concept – a vessel operator experience that seeks to enhance usability, navigation and safety on cargo vessels.

According to the company: “The Ox bridge automatically detects when a new watch enters the bridge and adjusts workstations and user interfaces according to their pre-defined preferences.
Rolls Royce added: “The system highlights real-time eco-efficiency information regarding the current operation mode and provides suggestions for the most optimal and eco-efficient steaming mode and route to reach the destination on-time.
“On longer transits the bridge provides information to support the mariner’s vigilance and situational awareness. In a situation requiring the attention of the crew, the system gives auditory and visual warnings well-in-advance and minimises any secondary information to enable un-distracted navigation and decision-making.”
