Since the first 19000 Teu record breaking CSCL Globe arrived in January this year, mega-vessels have been calling thick and fast at Felixstowe. Today, we have the 9th 18000 Teu plus ship in port, the Globe's sister ship, the CSCL Indian Ocean. Hot on her heels will be the Mary Maersk this Saturday, the 10th mega-vessel this year already. The 'coup de grace' however will be on Monday the 9th March when the MSC Oscar, the current record holder for the world's largest container ship, sails into port on her maiden call. Watch this space!

ReplyDeleteIt depends on what rotation it is on, some are discharge only whilest others are load only or a mixture of both.
