Fatal accident in Bremerhaven
I regret to inform you of the tragic death of a member of our German affiliate, ver.di, in the port of Bremerhaven following an accident involving a straddle carrier. We understand that an urgent investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the accident. Sadly, this is the second death of a dockworker in Bremerhaven this year.
The ITF expresses its deep condolences to the family of our fallen comrade and to ver.di. We encourage all dockers' affiliates to do the same. Messages of support should be sent to: Torben.Seebold@verdi.de.
