We are looking for port operatives with a range of skills to undertake duties which will include car driving (RoRo), car lashing and heavy plant and machinery lashing.
If you hold a current fork lift licence or have proven experience of fork lift work it would be advantageous. Applicants must be flexible as by applying for this position you will be required to undertake any of the roles in line with operational requirements. These are the principle skills that we need – however there is the potential for further development and acquisition of new skills.
As you will be required to drive as part of your responsibilities a full driving licence is required and you should be comfortable driving both manual and automatic vehicles. You will need to be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of six months driving experience in order to comply with our insurance.
In order to clear candidates for quayside work (ISPS regulations) we will need to be able to verify employment history for the immediate past 2 years as a minimum.
Excellent communication skill and a smart appearance are needed.
Hours are variable due to the changing hours and schedules of the vessels. You may be requested to work day, evening and weekend shifts.
