MSC UK is delighted to announce that it has raised a company-record of £28,900 for its 2015-2016 nominated charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society.
There are currently 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2021. Alzheimer's Society believes passionately that life doesn't end when dementia begins. They are there for anyone affected by dementia, and do everything they can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.
Anne Gordon, Finance Director at MSC UK commented, “It has been an absolute honour to work with the team at Alzheimer’s Society, they have raised our awareness of the difficulties that people living with dementia face. I am extremely proud of the generosity and commitment to fundraising our employees have shown throughout the year.”
Ray Nash, Senior Regional Corporate Fundraising Executive of Alzheimer’s Society replied: “It has been fantastic working with MSC over the last 12 months and raising an amazing £28,900.
A big thank you goes out to all those involved in raising such a staggering amount, from bake sales to dress down days and challenge event participants. I have been truly humbled by the time and effort everyone has put into supporting our cause.
We rely heavily on the support of companies and their staff like those at MSC to continue our commitment to improving the lives of those affected by dementia.
Money raised for Alzheimer’s Society from MSC will make a huge difference to the lives of people living with dementia today and fund research for a cure tomorrow.”
Each September, MSC UK employees vote to select an annual charity for which they will raise funds throughout the following year. This year's total is the highest yet achieved.
