The Port of Felixstowe welcomes MSC Mirjam the latest world's largest container ship. MSC Mirjam has 11 sister ships and are in the Pegasus Class Some of the sister ships are already in service and some are still being built. At just under 400 metres long and 60 metres wide this mega ship can carry an impressive 19437TEU (20ft containers) which is the current record, but not only does the MSC Mirjam hold this record she holds another record for having the world's largest engine afloat which kicks out a colossal 103000 horse power. The MAN B&W 11G95ME-C9.5 two-stroke type engine was specially designed for Pegasus class ships. Svitzer Deben and Svitzer Sky assist the MSC Mirjam with sling shot port swing onto Felixstowe Berth 9.

Vessel is the fifth of six ships for Ocean Yield ASA of Norway in a joint venture with Quantum Pacific Shipping; all of which are on 15 year bareboat charters to MSC.
