Ultra large YM World sails from Felixstowe berth 8 with a draft of 13.8 metres for her next port of Hamburg. The pilot requests two tugs for departure, Svitzer Deben, centre lead aft and the Svitzer Madeleine bow to bow.
Svitzer Madeleine is visiting from the Thames replacing the Svitzer Stanford while she is in dry docking at Hull.
As the YM World came off the berth and into the main channel the pilot kicks the engine ahead and releases the bow tug. Svitzer Madeleine then peels off to the Felixstowe side and goes to her next job of the day which was the Mathilde Maersk. The pilot keeps the Svitzer Deben aft until the YM has a good rate of turn around the 90ยบ Beach End turn out of the harbour.

Mathilde Maersk the last out of 20 to be build departs Felixstowe Berth 9 with assistance of Svitzer Sky which was made fast centre lead aft and the Svitzer Madeleine pushing on the portside bow to help it into the channel. Her last port was Algeciras and next port is Antwerp.
Mathilde Maersk has been a tricky customer with the ship spotters around Felixstowe as she seems to sail in or out during the night but pot luck due to the foggy weather conditions she departs at sunset.
Mathilde Maersk is 399 metres LOA with a beam of 60 metres. She can carry a massive 18340TEU.
