  1. Having worked on the wharf I felt at the time there was a great health and safety risk put on the dock workers. Hoppers and cranes where outdated and of poor quality.

  2. Any injury or fatality that is down to cost cutting should be considered as corporate manslaughter. Take a smaller slice of your dividend or maybe just a 1% cut in your slaery to let the men & women of the Dockers world earn their living in a safe environment.

  3. As a Health & Safety Consultant, who has worked in the docks, I think it is very unfair to assume that the Employer chose not to invest money into Health & Safety and instead was more concerned about the bottom line. Let HSENI complete an investigation to determine the root cause of the fatality first, before accusing a company for Corporate Manslaughter. It is very easy to promote blame sitting on the other side of a Computer, without any reasonable cause to back it up!!!!! Very sad news on the death of this person, my thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
