Today at approximately 10:30 am WFD units responded to the Port of Wilmington for injured person on a ship. SB-2 Officer Lieutenant Nicholas Rodriguez once on scene reported injured person is located below deck approximately 60ft. The injured person was operating a forklift which had overturned. B/C Danner assumed Command on arrival requested Ladder 1 for assistance. Squad 4 Officer Lieutenant Jacob Morente was assigned Operations and quickly devised a plan to package and remove patient via onboard crane. The crew of Squad 4 secured patient in a stokes basket. Then utilized ropes and rigging attached to the crane for patient removal. Great job by all involved. #SQUADSCHOOL #WFDSTRONG
