Uniserve, who are proposing to develop and operate a new ‘state-of-the-art’ port related warehouse facilityof the partly developed Clickett Hill site at Felixstowe


I write on behalf of Uniserve, who are proposing to develop and operate a new ‘state-of-the-art’ port related warehouse facility with a ground floor area of 47,000 sq. metres (510,000 sq. ft.) on their existing (but as yet undeveloped) site at Plateaus A and B of the partly developed Clickett Hill site at Felixstowe, adjacent to the A14 trunk road that leads to the Port of Felixstowe.

It is hoped that a planning application will be submitted to Suffolk Coastal District Council shortly following which time there will be a full public consultation period as part of the statutory application process. However, we are keen to ensure that the residents living within the vicinity of the development have an opportunity to view and comment on the proposals before the application is made. Accordingly, we are in the process of arranging a public consultation event. The event will be held from 3.00 to 7.00pm on Thursday 7th November 2013 at the Orwell Hotel, Hamilton Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk, IP11 7DX and Directors of both Uniserve and the design team will be available for discussion.

We would however be delighted to meet with the members of the Parish Council in order to present and discuss our proposals prior to the formal application, ideally on a separate date before the public consultation, or if this is not possible we could reserve a time on the same day as and immediately before the public consultation for a private viewing and discussion, or arrange to meet you in the days following the public event.

We believe the project is positive news for the area as the development will provide a notable boost to the local economy by generating approximately 500 additional local jobs as well as supporting the existing and future business of the Port of Felixstowe.
