CCNI ARAUCO – Notice of Incident
Dear Customers,
We regret to inform you that on 1st of September 2016 we have been informed that a fire broke out on board of the m/v CCNI ARAUCO whilst she was under operation in the port of Hamburg, Germany.
The origin of the fire incident is still under investigation. The Vessel’s emergency plan has been immediately applied, the fire-fighting actions have been taken and the area is still blocked by the police port for inspection.
At this stage, we have been provided with very limited information about the incident, therefore we are not in position to estimate the extent of potential damage to the cargo and containers on board of the vessel.
We have also been informed that Owners have declared General Average and have appointed as Loss Adjuster Siemens Maritime Adjusters GmbH. Therefore, we invite you to notify your insurers accordingly.
We will not fail to revert back to you with pro-forma copies of the General Average Bond, General Average Guarantee and cash deposit forms.
