CSCL Star sails in fog from Felixstowe Berth 9 with two tugs 1st February 2017

Ultra large CSCL Star sails from Felixstowe Berth 9 in thick fog for her next port of Rotterdam with a draft of 11.6 metres. Two tugs was requested for departure, The Svitzer Deben was made fast on the centre lead aft while the Svitzer Madeleine was made fast on the centre lead forward. The pilot onboard was ready to set off but a crane was still down and had one box to load, finish the lashings and lastly a gear bin to go onboard. Once the crane started booming up the tugs were made fast and a few minutes later the crane driver started his decent down the many flights of steps to the bottom, the mooring gang from the Al Nefud moved into their positions to remove the slackened lines off the bollards to be winched aboard the Star. As spring lines were released the pilot gets both tugs to pull away from the berth into the channel then slowly comes ahead releasing the Svitzer Madeleine. The pilot keeps the Svitzer Deben for the Beach End just incase something happens and need a little help
